Run a program when Ubuntu is very simple. Let's say I want to start start the chat program Pidgin ... Nothing could be easier to make fact Ubuntu has a handy utility that deals with precisely this:
System> Preferences> Sessions
Now just click on Add and then click:
- name: You can choose whatever I think (in my case I put it as the name Pidgin)
- command : You should put the name of the executable (in the case of my example should be put pidgin) do not need the full path to the file but make sure that the terminal the command is right
